The famous, honest, dutiful, dedicated personalities of Ukhia, Cox’s Bazar as well as all over the Bangladesh Mr. Shafiul Alam, the Former Cabinet Secretary, an Alternate Executive of the current World Bank Mr. Shafiul Alam, the younger brother of veteran freedom fighter and martyr ATM Zafar Alam of Cox’s Bazar district, has topped the list of the Honorable Prime Minister’s final list for the formation of the Election Commission (EC).
The rulling Awameleague party president & Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wants names from the leaders taken at the Awami League presidium meeting held last Tuesday. The leaders filled five envelopes with their names and submitted them to the party president. The members of the presidium requested that they finalize Sheikh Hasina from the proposed name and send it to the search committee. There, it was decided that the Awami League would recommend the names of 10 people to the search committee on Friday.
Several leaders present at the meeting said that most of the leaders have put former cabinet secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam on their preferred . He is currently serving as an alternate executive at the World Bank. His tenure there is until November. However, there is no obstacle to leave the job of the World Bank if you get a new responsibility. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina personally liked him
Also on the list of leaders was Mohammad Sadiq, former chairman of the Public Service Commission (PSC) and former secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat. Former cabinet secretary Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan is also on the list of some of the Awami League leaders. Former law secretary Kazi Habibul Awal is also on the list. Some have also suggested the names of the two former chief justices
Talking to Awami League leaders, it was learned that we were supposed to submit our names on Thursday. But since there is an opportunity to submit on Friday, we will submit on the last day. The names are being checked a little more.
Awami League’s information and research secretary Selim Mahmud told today’s newspaper that they would submit their names to the search committee anytime on Friday.
