Already, a large number of Rohingya refugees have collected, Birth certificates, National identity cards (NIDs) and Passports, and now even during the preparation and updating of the new voter list, many Rohingya refugees are known to continue lobbying and trying to become voters in various ways, which is needless to say how much a threat it is to the overall security and sovereignty of the Country. Only conscious citizen can understand this.
Rohingyas are not citizens of this country, they are citizens of Myanmar, they are foreigners even though they stay as refugees in this country. If they get the citizenship and passport of this country, and conduct terrorist activities or criminal activities in any other country, then the responsibility will fall on us and the image and reputation of the country will be severely damaged. Rohingyas have already ruined the reputation of this country in various countries of the world including the Middle East.
On August 25, 2017, forcibly displaced people from the neighboring country Myanmar entered various areas of Ukhia and Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar district, and the Government of Bangladesh gave them shelter on purely humanitarian grounds and provided them accommodation, food, medical care and other necessary facilities in 34 temporary camps in Ukhia Teknaf. provided Initially, the number of registered Rohingya refugees was about 9 lakh. Now after breeding, their number stands at about 12 lakhs. There have been several rounds of talks between Bangladesh and Myanmar for the repatriation of Rohingyas. Diplomatic activities of Bangladesh are also continuing. But Myanmar has not taken back a single Rohingya so far.
The Rohingyas of Myanmar residing in the territory of Bangladesh have caused and continue to cause many problems for this country. Rohingyas are cutting down forest trees, cutting mountains and illegally building houses outside the camps designated for them. They are destroying the landscape, natural environment in the southern part of Cox’s Bazar district. At the same time, drug trafficking and drug trade and various criminal activities are worsening the law and order situation. Destroyed the labor market, locals are not getting their fair share of labor because of the Rohingya. The Rohingyas have built a business presence anonymously and under pseudonyms. TomTom, CNG, autorickshaw drivers, various businesses have been developed by the Rohingyas.
Now it is known that they are collecting NID card and passport in illegal way. In this work, they are getting the help of some corrupt and dishonest public representatives, some greedy people and some government officials and employees. According to media reports, many Rohingyas have already been migrated to other countries using illegal passports.
Citizens are entitled to enjoy various government facilities of the country. With NID card citizens are considered eligible for passport and can travel to other countries with the passport.
These foreign Rohingyas have not only collected NID cards of Bangladesh but also collected passports. The news is very alarming. If Rohingyas are caught in any other country with green passports of Bangladesh, they will be treated as citizens of Bangladesh and will be punished according to the laws of that country. Therefore, only the citizens of this country can get the green passport of Bangladesh and the NID of Bangladesh and the passport of the country. If some Rohingyas with fake NID passports get our passports and commit crimes on foreign soil, where will the dignity of our country’s people be? Members of foreign law enforcement agencies will view and treat green passport holders in this country with suspicion. None of us want such a situation.
The news that the NID of Bangladesh is going into the hands of the Rohingyas has come in the media before. But the authorities did not give importance to the matter, nor did the investigation take place. On January 16, members of the Armed Police Battalion arrested Shah Ali, the brother of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (Arsa) chief Ataullah, from the Rohingya camp in Ukhia and recovered the National Identity Card (NID) of Bangladesh from him. After that the issue of issuing NID illegally came to the fore. Writing in the media started, the authorities were also shaken.
While investigating the incident, it was found that Shah Ali had collected the NID card in 2018. He then used a permanent address under Kotwali police station in Chittagong. Investigation shows that no one lives in that area by this name. The card is completely fake, but issued by the concerned authorities of the government. The card was illegally issued three years ago to Shah Ali, a citizen of Myanmar. Who is responsible for this? Shah Ali is not the authority of our government?
It is not new that many people get Bangladeshi citizenship that since 1978, there have been discussions for a crisis meeting Friday 1978 problem then independent Ziaur Rahman government dealing with your opportunity to take a satisfactory position was obtained in a number of ways. Those Rohingyas again got the opportunity to come and stay in Bangladesh around 1990-91. Many of those Rohingyas still remain as reg camps in different areas of Ukhia Teknaf. The Rohingyas who arrived in 1978 and 1990-91 who remained in the country, arranged to get NIDs and passports in various ways with the connivance of some local miscreants. All those Rohingya boys and girls studied in different schools, colleges, madrasas, universities and joined government and private jobs and became Bangladeshis. Today they got Bangladeshi citizenship through generations, they are bigger Bangladeshis than us. Those Rohingyas today are helping the newly arrived Rohingyas in different ways to vote. Rohingya. In order to eliminate such difficulties, it is very necessary to create a database of the Rohingyas who have received citizenship in the previous years, i.e. 1978, 1990-91. Today, identifying Rohingyas from that database was an easy task. Now many Rohingyas have come into the mainstream, but there is no field to identify them, but if the government takes initiative, it is still possible to create a separate database for them. It will be possible to identify the Rohingyas easily if a database is created about the Rohingyas who arrived in the seventies and nineties and in 2017. Moreover, there is a need to identify and include those Rohingya women, Bangladeshi men and Rohingya men who have married Bangladeshi women and received national identity cards in Bangladesh.
Published in the newspaper last week, Md. Zafar is the chairman or head majhi of Kutupalong Mega-2 East Camp in Ukhia, Cox’s Bazar. He is alleged to be an influential member of Myanmar’s outlawed Alikhin or Arsa terrorist organization. He is one of the 2017 Rohingya arrivals. He has already made the national identity card. In 2019, Zafar Alam made the Bangladeshi national identity card or NID, which is also a smart card, which most of the citizens of this country have not yet received.
His NID No. 7777836383, made at the address of Pomra Kaderia Para, Rangunia, Chittagong. On the other hand, Md Taiyab was registered as an asylum seeker who escaped from Myanmar in 2019 with the number 00183295 and took shelter in Kutupalong Rohingya camp. He was born on 5-April-1996, in Myanmar. father; Abu Shama, mother; Fatema Khatun. Suchtur Taiyab only changed his name to Md. Khalid Hossain and made a smart card number 3302548353 in Halishahar area of Chittagong City next year, keeping his parents and birth year. Earlier, on 10th December 2020, he issued passport No. 0536724 from Dhaka.
For so long, the media has been saying that the Rohingyas are getting NID cards illegally, this allegation has now been proved. Authorities are not revealing how many thousands of Rohingya have illegally collected NID cards. They are not saying that the media reports are false. He says that the matter is being ‘investigated’. It is not clear how long it will take them to see the ‘investigation’.
However, by collecting illegal NID cards and passports in this way, it should not be difficult to understand how much the Myanmar terrorist group Arsa and the Rohingyas staying in this country have threatened the security of Bangladesh.
Recently on Sunday 14th August, a man named Sagar was arrested from his own Sagar Bengal IT Center, engaged in this dishonest business for a long time, with the help of Chairman Gafur Uddin Chowdhury.
It is known that he has been registering the births of Rohingyas by screening the signatures of Alhaj Gafur Uddin Chowdhury, UP Member and Chairman of Palongkhali Union Parishad and the Secretary of the Parishad, said Nurul Haque, a local UP member.
Sagar, on the other hand, was introducing himself as a journalist of Bangladesh Pratidin and Desh Vaishek newspapers. Ukhia Thana police arrested Sagar, the master of the birth certificate forgery ring and sent him to jail.
The process of obtaining National Identity Card (NID) is not very simple. This card is obtained by crossing five steps. After submitting the application form, the NID card is given to the applicant after the process of data collection, identity verification, processing in upazila server etc. is completed. It takes a lot of time. Even if the said Rohingya refugee Shah Ali completed all the procedures and received the card, it must be said that there has been serious irregularities and corruption in his case.
It has not come to the media so far who is involved in this irregularity and corruption. Only they know how long it will take the authorities to ‘investigate’ the incident.
It has been alleged for a long time that a well-organized gang is working at various levels in Chittagong for issuing fake NIDs and passports. RAB recently arrested three members of this gang. Last year, at least 15 members of this gang were arrested by the law and order forces. Laptops stolen from Election Commission (EC) and passport offices, fake or fake NIDs, fake passports etc. were seized from them. According to reports published in the newspaper, this gang has provided fake NIDs to Rohingya refugees for just Rs.500 to Rs.1000. According to newspaper reports, the Rohingyas have also collected Bangladeshi passports from this gang in exchange for several thousand rupees. A number of unscrupulous employees of the EC and Passport Department are believed to be involved in such misdeeds. Even if one gang involved in making fake NIDs or passports is caught, many more such gangs are suspected to be active. The law enforcement agencies should use all their strength to identify and arrest all such gangs immediately. If not, Bangladesh may face a big threat and danger.
Only the victims know how much suffering the citizens of Bangladesh go through to get a new passport or to renew their passport. Passport offices have been taken over by brokers – such news is often coming in the media. By paying the money to the brokers, the passport is available at the appointed time. If someone submits the passport application directly without hiring a broker, it is not possible to say how long it will take him to get it.
It is further alleged that the petitioners were harassed in various ways. There is no remedy for these corruptions in the media. But foreign Rohingyas are getting NID, getting passports and moving abroad. Besides destroying the landscape and environment of Cox’s Bazar, the Rohingyas are smuggling deadly drugs like yaba and ice from Myanmar. Because of this, the drug business is booming in the country. Incidents of murder and vandalism also occur frequently in refugee camps.
These incidents are often reported in the media. There is no cure. No one seems to have a headache. How many headaches media workers!
